The homework club allows children the option of supervised time in school to do their homework before returning home. This will assist them by providing a quiet and suitable atmosphere in which to spend time at their homework free from the normal distractions at home. The homework club runs for one hour each day from 2:50 p.m. to 3:50 p.m in.
Homework also supports the development of independent learning skills and provides parents with an opportunity to take part in their children’s education. All our classes take home some form of homework each week. This ranges from our youngest children in Willow class learning initial key words, right through to our eldest children in Oak class developing the important independent learning.
Homework Club is held in the library every Thursday afternoon (except for the last week of each term). It is a great way for students to access support with their classwork and assignments, access the library resources or just have a quiet place to work. Support and supervision is provided by the Support Teachers for Inclusive Education-Leigh Dornan, Maureen Lill, Bianca Zorn and myself.
